About Us

At InfoRehab, we are Occupational Therapy graduate students currently attending Barry University; our goal is to achieve a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Additionally, we work in a skilled nursing facility, and we have the knowledge, and experience to assist individuals who are in need of Occupational Therapy rehabilitation.

Throughout our research, and information gained from our visit to Haiti we have discovered that there is a lack of Occupational Therapy resources, and rehabilitation services in Haiti. We have decided to create a website to provide resources and information to all individuals, in particular the Haitian population in need of information about occupational therapy services. We hope that people will find the site helpful, beneficial, and obtain knowledge from the resources available on the site.

The website project was created after seeing the catastrophic earthquake disaster that occurred on January 12, 2010 inflicting massive injury on the Haitian population and infrastructure in Haiti. We did some research and discover that, within the Haitian population, lack of knowledge in the rehabilitation profession is a huge factor. Many individuals in the Haitian community believe that, an individual with limb loss or a disability should live in isolation and are given few opportunities to contribute to the betterment of their communities. These factors pushed us as Haitian-American to dedicate ourselves to serve and educate the Haitian community and any other individuals researching the website about occupational therapy and their services.
